About Amy Kelchner, ND
Your Healing is My Calling
When I was a young woman I found myself on a journey to the ancient spiritual center of Machu Picchu in Peru.
It was there that I received the clear calling to become a healer. I had no idea at the time what that meant, but now I can see that it has always been my life's path.
Now, many years, degrees, and initiations later, I find that my practice has evolved the way the Peruvian spirits called it to — going ever deeper as I open myself more and more to the multifaceted nature of healing.
I've had the privilege of working with many beautiful people through the healing process and I've been a humble witness to the great healing that can come from connecting to our deep inner resources and dreaming a new life for ourselves. When we do this, we transmute pain and longing into personal power and agency.
It is a true honor to hold space for people as they dive deeply inside and find their own bright souls at the center of their being.
As my practice has evolved, I have become more and more intrigued by the broader aspects of health and by questions such as:
How does our soul's longing manifest in the body? What is the message in our pain?
When people are able to reconnect with their power and remember who they Truly Are, my heart opens and I remember why I am alive. This is my life’s work: to open people to their inner wisdom and help them bring their light out into the world.
Imagine how incredible our world could be if we could all turn on our inner light switch and shine as our true bright spirits.
I am so grateful for my teachers, mostly in the form of people who have come for healing and have shared their profound wisdom with me. I feel so honored by this process, and am infinitely grateful for the privilege of holding space for deep healing.

Teachers of the Deeper Work
In following my longing for a deeper connection with spirit and soul, I have explored many routes within, including various spiritual practices and personal growth practices. One of my greatest teachers/mentors has been Deborah Frances, RN, ND. When I was pregnant with my son, I began a deeper dive into my own soul’s calling with my great friend and mentor Ellen Grossman, CNM. I continue to work with Ellen as mentor and IFS practitioner. I participated in a year-long nature immersion program learning the ways of shamanism based on Hank Wesselman’s teachings as well as Bill Plotkin’s brilliant soul work. Shamanism really spoke to my spirit and I felt I had found my way home. I’ve been pursuing shamanic studies for about 12 years and have taken workshops from many brilliant teachers. I studied with Sandra Ingerman, Isa Gucciardi, Shelley Stump, and Leia Hart among others. From 2018-2020 I was honored to attend Sandra Ingerman’s teacher training program.
My most important teachers are the elements and the spirits that I connect with every day. Shamanism is a path of Direct Revelation, and the answers come from that personal connection with the Divine. The Divine is in every being on the planet, and when we open our hearts and minds to the beauty that surrounds us, the world becomes a living being that we belong to.
Insight Into My World
I live in the suburbs of Portland where I walk by the river and put my hands on the cedar trees every day. My spouse and I are blessed with two amazing children who love to challenge our assumptions and remind us to play. We ride bikes and grow food and live out our lives with praise to the Earth and songs to the moon. And a little bit of Minecraft, too.
